How to Upload Your Existing Core Keeper Server Save

Want to move your existing single-player or co-op world to a dedicated server? In this guide, we will walk you through the process of locating your local Core Keeper world save and uploading it directly to your MintServers game panel.

Warning: Uploading a new world save will overwrite any existing progress currently on the server. Make sure to back up your current server world first if you want to keep it!

Locating Your Local Save File

First, we need to find where Core Keeper stores your world on your local computer.

  1. Press the Windows Key + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog.
  2. Copy and paste %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Pugstorm\Core Keeper\Steam\ into the box and click OK.
  3. Open the folder named with a long string of random numbers (this is your Steam ID).
  4. Open the worlds folder.
  5. Locate your world save file. If you only have one world, it is typically named 0.world.gzip. Keep this folder open for the next steps. You can click the folders below to see exactly what this local path looks like:
📁 AppData
📁 LocalLow
📁 Pugstorm
📁 Core Keeper
📁 Steam
📁 156xxxxxxxxx (Your Steam ID)
📁 worlds
📄 0.world.gzip (Your local world)

Uploading the Save to Your Server

Now that we have your world file, let's get it onto your server so you can start playing.

  1. Log in to your MintServers Game Panel.
  2. Stop your Core Keeper server before making any file changes to prevent corruption.
  3. Click on File Manager in the left-hand server menu.
  4. Navigate through the directories to reach your worlds folder. You can click the folders below to see exactly what your server structure should look like:
📁 .config
📁 unity3d
📁 Pugstorm
📁 CoreKeeper
📁 DedicatedServer
📁 worlds
📄 0.world.gzip (Your uploaded world)
  1. Click the Upload button and select your local save file (e.g., 0.world.gzip) from your computer. Allow it to overwrite the old file if one already exists.
  2. Go to your Startup Parameters or Server Options and verify that the World Index matches the number of your uploaded world file (for 0.world.gzip, the index must be 0).
  3. Start your Core Keeper server.

That is it! Your server will now boot up with your existing world. If you run into any issues or the world isn't loading properly, just open a support ticket and our team will be happy to help you out.
